Itinerary

Day 1 - Benoa

Benoa, Bali, Indonesia: Bali really is as alluring as everyone says. This island, slightly bigger than Delaware, has it all: beaches, volcanoes, terraced rice fields, forests, renowned resorts, surfing, golf, and world-class dive sites. What sets Bali apart from other nearby tropical destinations is Balinese tradition, and villagers dedicated to celebrating it. The hundreds of temples, dances, rituals, and crafts linked to their ancient Hindu faith aren't a show for tourists; instead, they embody a living, breathing culture in which visitors are warmly received by the Balinese, who cherish their own identities.

Day 2 - Day at Sea

A day at sea to relax and enjoy the onboard facilities and activities.

Day 3 - Komodo Island

Komodo Island, Indonesia: Pink Beach earned its name for the way the beach can appear to have a rosy hue in certain lights. The colour comes from small flecks of red coral mixed in with the fine white reef sand. With a few trees along the beach for shade, this stretch of coast makes a fine place to relax or enjoy a snorkel or dive in the crystal clear waters. It is possible to spot a striped clown fish nestled among the protective tentacles of its sea anemone host, or to see a grouper lazily swimming by a flamboyant soft coral. The reef here is now protected by law, and the maturing corals are a joy to behold.

Day 4 - Maumere

Maumere, Flores, Indonesia: Discover the tranquil allure of Flores on this portion of your journey. With dramatic mountain scenery and a rich cultural tapestry, Maumere offers both charm and adventure. A visit here could include exploring local villages, hiking to breathtaking viewpoints, or enjoying a peaceful day at the beach.

Day 5 - Kalabahi

Kalabahi, Indonesia: Situated on Alor Island, Kalabahi is known for its vibrant traditional culture and stunning underwater landscapes. Visitors can immerse themselves in the island's unique culture by visiting local markets and villages, or take advantage of the island's remarkable diving opportunities.

Day 6 - Barat Daya Islands

Barat Daya Islands, Indonesia: These remote islands offer untouched beauty and serene isolation. Known for their rugged natural landscapes and biodiversity, the islands provide a perfect backdrop for exploration and adventure in a pristine environment.

Day 7 - Banda Neira

Banda Neira, Indonesia: Banda Neira is the main island in the minute Banda Archipelago in the Banda Sea, some 2500 kilometers away from Jakarta. Although the Portuguese first contacted the Banda Islands for nutmeg and mace in 1512, it was only ninety years later that the Dutch established a trading post on Neira and neighbouring Lonthor to export the spices. Rivalries between the Dutch and the British led to forts being built—visitors can explore the ruins of Fort Nassau and the restored Fort Belgica on Banda Neira. The area surrounding the town still features nutmeg plantations and several sites related to the Dutch spice trading era.

Day 8 - Mommon Peninsula

Mommon Peninsula, West Papua, Indonesia: The Mommon Peninsula captivates explorers with its awe-inspiring maritime landscapes and rich biodiversity. It is a perfect place for nature enthusiasts to engage in birdwatching, trekking through lush rainforests, or boating alongside rugged coastlines.

Day 9 - Triton Bay

Triton Bay, Indonesia: In 2008, the Kaimana Regency declared a 6000 square kilometre (over 2,300 square mile) Marine Protected Area around the waters of Triton Bay. Conservation International maintains an office in Kaimana and a field station out in Triton Bay where visiting scientists can do their work studying the staggering marine biodiversity of the reserve. It is truly second to none, as the area offers encounters with the tiniest pygmy seahorses to large and graceful whale sharks. Triton Bay is known for its beautiful soft coral gardens, nesting green turtles, and a population of coastal Bryde’s whales.

Day 10 - Day at Sea

Another relaxing day at sea to rejuvenate before the next adventure.

Day 11 - Asmat

Asmat, Papua, Indonesia: Western New Guinea (once known as Irian Jaya) remains one of the most remote and mysterious regions of the planet. Even today, at least 44 tribes have never been contacted by the outside world. The Asmat region, in the southwestern corner of the island, is famously known as the land of head-hunters and cannibals whilst maintaining its ancient traditions. Start your expedition of the area with a Zodiac® journey to Syuru village, where you'll be greeted by a multitude of Asmat warrior canoes. Once ashore, enjoy immersing in a traditional ceremony among the local community.

Day 12 - Day at Sea

Delight in another day at sea, enjoying all the amenities onboard your expedition vessel.

Day 13 - Day at Sea

Relax and engage with enrichment activities on board during this day at sea.

Day 14 - Cape York

Cape York, Queensland, Australia: Experience the pristine wilderness of Cape York, the northernmost point of the Australian continent. This remote land is rich with adventure, showcasing its natural beauty through lush rainforests, stunning coastlines, and unique wildlife.

Day 15 - Lizard Island National Park

Lizard Island, Queensland, Australia: Lizard Island National Park is untouched and perfect for an adventure holiday highlight. Explore walking tracks offering spectacular views, pristine beaches perfect for snorkelling, and some of the clearest waters on the Great Barrier Reef.

Day 16 - Cairns

Cairns, Queensland, Australia: Tourism is the lifeblood of Cairns (pronounced Caans). The city provides an excellent base for exploring the wild top half of Queensland, and tens of thousands of international travellers use it as a jumping-off point for activities such as scuba diving and snorkelling trips to the Barrier Reef, and boating, fishing, parasailing, scenic flights, and rainforest treks. Despite the tough environment, with intense heat and fierce wildlife, Cairns and tropical North Queensland remain inviting places with friendly locals and spectacular sights.
